It (2017): The Success That Box Office Experts Didn't Predict

From the New York Times: "But the biggest story is the tremendous run of “It.” That Stephen King adaptation perked up the domestic box office after a dismal August, and not even box office experts predicted just how well the movie would perform." Box office experts didn't predict the success of 'It' because most people, especially critics, don't take horror movies as seriously as a drama or super hero film (yeah, even that). They still think it's crazy how horror has been thriving this year. Sure, like Stephen King said, we make up horrors to help us deal with the real ones. And like an episode of AHS Cult people are plenty afraid and fearful in 2017, but horror (especially 'It') is thriving because it is a great movie. We haven't had such a great Stephen King adaption in a very long time.

Currently watching Sinister 2 and I think Deputy So and So would be a GREAT adult Eddie Kaspbrak for It Chapter 2! Make it happen lol I honestly can't see anyone else playing Eddie Kaspbrak so this better happen, Andy!

Sinister (2012) Movie Review

So Sinister That You Can't Look Away Sinister (Directed by Scott Derrickson Doctor Strange, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill) is about a true crime author, Ellison (Ethan Hawke), who willingly moves into a home with his family where a grizzly murder (unbeknownst to his family) took place. While putting together research for a new book about the murders that took place in his new home, Ellison discovers a box in the attic that contains a film projector accompanied by 8 mm home films. These home films are a chain reaction of horror and haunts. And a pagan deity from the Babylonian times (Bughuul) makes his subtle presence known. Sinister is a movie--a rare movie, which has no flaws. Nothing about it ever gets boring, cringy, or stale.
