What I Have Been Up To


Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I'm here to give a small update and let you all know what is going on with me.

I am currently writing a novel! I'm taking a break from writing another horror anthology to focus on my debut novel. I think it is definitely time to write and put out a novel. I have sharpened my writing skills, editing skills, and I have so many ideas and scenes in my head that are ready to leap onto this novel I'm writing. I don't want to release any details yet, but I will be letting you all know once I'm ready.

I am also writing a very suspenseful, creepy, and unsettling short story for a Latinx anthology co-edited by V. Castro (author of Maria the Wanted) and Brian Lindenmuth (Associate publisher of Bronzeville). If you are a Latinx or AfroLatinx writer than you can enter and find out all of the details here. I am really excited about the story I'm writing!

Other than that, I'm being a family man, working and slaving, and daydreaming about Halloween season and the autumn months.

(Book Review) Trapped In Room 217 by Thomas Kingsley Troupe

🎃🎃🎃🎃 Trapped In Room 217 by Thomas Kingsley Troupe Trapped In Room 217 is a really good ghost story that is perfectly fit for kids ages 8 through 12. It is even a great read for young adults and older adults like myself! (I definitely plan on checking out the Haunted States of America series.) Trapped in Room 217 is about a twelve-year-old girl named Jayla Walters who has to stay in the famous Stanley Hotel with her father and brother Dion. Jayla has a paranormal encounter and begins to learn more about the ghostly maid and the history of The Stanley Hotel. I read this book in two days. It was really fun and kept me wanting to know more. I would have liked it much more if the story was more thrilling and scary, but hey, it's a kids book. I recommend this book! It is perfect for Halloween.
